Pastor Mary Louise Gray was born in Alamance County, North Carolina to the late Ervin and Addie Mae Rogers. She grew up with five sisters and one brother. Pastor Gray attended Graham Elementary and Graham High School. Mary and her sisters walked to church almost every Sunday. She attended Wayman’s Chapel AME Church for many years. Mary married her high school sweetheart, Levon Gray. They have one son, Chadwick Levon Gray and one granddaughter, Tannika LaDawn Gray.

Pastor Gray has been a hard worker as long as she was old enough to work. In 1980, Pastor Gray, Levon, and Chad moved to Durham, NC where they now reside. In 1990, Pastor Gray heard a Word sent from God. Her oldest sister and some friends came to her house one Saturday and gave her this scripture: Acts 2: 38 -39. It reads: ”Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Pastor Gray did not stop until she found an Apostolic church that baptized in the name of Jesus. On March 25, 1990, Pastor Mary Gray went down in the name of Jesus and not many days hence received the powerful gift of the Holy Ghost.

Pastor Gray kept seeking God with her whole heart. He did a quick work in her and called her to preach the Gospel on July 4, 1992. She preached her trial sermon on August 28, 1992. Pastor Gray worked as a Cafeteria Manager in the RTP area and later attended Carolina Beauty College after being laid off. She currently works as a Beautician in Rest Homes and Rehabilitation Centers. She also works for Durham Public Schools as a Child Nutrition Assistant.

Pastor Gray attended the Church of God in Christ for a few years. The Lord led her to the Greater Highway Church of Christ in Holly Springs, North Carolina in October 1994. In January 1996, Pastor Gray started a work in Burlington, North Carolina where she held service in a hotel conference room until she found a building. She worked faithfully towards building the work in Burlington until she was led to start a work in Durham, NC. She is presently in Durham, NC invading the hedges and highways as she wins souls for Christ by preaching and teaching the Apostolic Doctrine.
