Mary Jane Patterson was born in Robeson County to the late Alex and Jeanette Morrison. She married the late Frinch Patterson in October 1948. To this union eight children were born, one deceased. They were blessed with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pastor Patterson enjoys visiting the sick and helping people. She was a nurse's assistant for many years. Pastor Patterson was a member of the Nurse's Board. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 121: I will lift up mines eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Her lamb like spirit coupled with the fierceness of a lion has won many to Christ. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
