Holly Springs Greater Highway Church of Christ began in the Chapel of Prince Funeral Home on Bass Lake Road in 1978 under the pastorship of Minister Mildred McCallum under the direction of Bishop R. F. Davis. The founding members were the late Minister Mildred McCallum, the late Evangelist Mamie Lee Walker, and Minister Mary J. Patterson.

Services were held in the Chapel of Prince Funeral Home for several years. On the first Sunday in April 1987 we marched in our new edifice. In 1988, Minister Mary J. Patterson was installed as Pastor under the leadership of Bishop R. F. Davis where she remains today, crying loud and sparing not.
